Hypnosis & the Subconscious

Hypnosis is a technique that is able to access a person's subconscious mind. Hypnosis can help with anxiety and panic attacks because all the anxiety and stress that triggers a panic attack has its roots in the subconscious.

Functions such as breathing rate and heart rate are controlled by the subconscious. Because both the emotional and physical aspects of this condition are within the subconscious, hypnosis is a highly effective tool to diminish the "what if" feelings and help to find acceptance and peace.

“I am having an panic attack. What should I do?”

Three Things NOT to do During a Panic Attack.

1.Do not fear you are going to lose control of a panic attack.

Panic attacks have a way of making us feel out of control but this is nothing more than the biochemical reaction of the fight or flight reaction. You are safe and your body can handle the physical sensations panic brings.

2.Do not fear the panic will escalate to the point of no return. Panic attacks come in waves. The moment when you think it is going to get so bad is actually the peak of the wave. It then subsides naturally.

3.Do not feel ashamed for having panic/anxiety. Many people have no idea what it feels like to have a panic attack or anxiety. You are so brave already just dealing with this problem.

Three Things to do:

1. When in an uncomfortable situation that can trigger panic ask to "bring it on" a little scary I know, but it works. What you resist persists.  You understand now panic cannot hurt you, your body knows how to deal with every sensation that panic brings on.  Take small steps with this, then build on each achievement gaining strength, control, and power with each success.

2.Repeat:  "Even though this event, the situation is making me feel uncomfortable, I accept it and I accept myself."  Acceptance diffuses the out of control feelings.

3.Drink water!  So easy yet it is estimated over 70 percent of Americans are dehydrated. Water helps balance all the systems of the body, including the parasympathetic nervous system (relaxation response.)
